Biomass coal

Biomass coal, also known as bio-coal or torrefied biomass, is a renewable energy source made by processing biomass materials like wood, agricultural residues, or organic waste through a thermal treatment called torrefaction. This process removes moisture and volatile compounds, resulting in a dry, energy-dense, coal-like product that burns cleaner than traditional coal, producing fewer greenhouse gas emissions and pollutants. Biomass coal can be used as a direct substitute for fossil coal in power plants and industrial boilers, helping to reduce carbon footprints and promote sustainable energy solutions while utilizing waste materials that would otherwise decompose or be discarded.
